Making the decision to engage with psychological work or 'therapy' is a personal process. It may be that you have felt for some time that there is something "not quite right" or that you have felt that you need some help from someone external to your life. Alternatively, it may be that due to a recent change in circumstances or a recent (or historical) experience or event, you have decided this is a good time to address this or to talk about things.
Either way, we will work together to understand the issue and to work towards a way through it together.
Through my doctorate training and experience, I am able to use the major approaches to psychological therapy.
These include (but are not confined to):
- Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
- Systemic therapy
- Behavioural therapy
Ideally therapy takes place 'face to face' but I know for many people, this is not always possible with busy schedules and multiple commitments. I am able to offer consultations by email or Skype for those who would prefer this- please do not hesitate to contact me if you feel this would benefit you.
I am able to provide therapy for individuals with a diagnosis of ASD in addition to those without this diagnosis. I am also able to offer couples and family work to think about issues which ASD may present within the relationship.
